What makes modern art interesting and strong is that it is linked to a tradition that is 10 or 20,000 years old, and more. We are all “heirs” who, one day or another, end up finding our way: otherwise we stop, we give up, if we do not have the feeling, the conviction of creation. When I contemplate my studio from the mezzanine, I sometimes feel the sense of contentment that is common to all those who have worked long and hard, and who, from time to time, stop and straighten up to look at the accomplished work in front of them. These are good moments in the morning light and the sun that filters through the windows. There is a kind of living radiation that pushes one to go back, to have confidence, to have ideas, to undertake a new sculpture, a painting…
