Breakfast on the Grass Series

This series is inspired by Manet’s Le Déjeuner sur l’Herbe and Meret Oppenheim’s Le déjeuner en fourrure. It comprises small installations and objects adorned with embroidery. Cups with an embroidered uterus, dessert plates containing moths or thorns arranged on small placemats like sweets displayed in a pastry shop, and pocket mirrors with embroidered messages such as “Nosce te ipsum” (Know thyself) represent a refined provocation on the female condition, both past and present.
