The inspiration for this intense and positive painting comes from the beautiful dream world—a state of consciousness in which the laws of time, light and shadow, forms and perspectives can be suspended. For this picture, I mixed blue, black, white, gold, green, turquoise, red, sienna, and yellow on my palette; in some cases, the colors seem to flow, in others, they playfully interact. The result is a picture with many contrasts, on the one hand between light and dark, and on the other hand between pastel shades and saturated hues.
